Freelancing Career Feedback

“Faith, your the best freelance non-us writer I’ve ever come across in my 3 years of doing this (business) online. Once in a while I found errors in your articles that would tip me off to it being a foreign writer, but it wasn’t common. However, I promise the content provided is written by a writer from the US or UK or CA so I deliver that.”

From being a writer and spinner of articles in SavvyContent, a website offering Link Building Services, my boss Andrew, who I met through oDesk, promoted me to become the editor of the articles created and spun by the other writers in the business. This promotion happened on April 2009 and even if it may seem like something to be happy for, I wasn’t at that time. It was because the salary for being an editor was much lower than that of a spinner and writer. Ever since that promotion, he never allowed me to work again on writing and spinning articles.

I always thought that this was because I was not a good writer. But today, he clarified that issue with me. After reading this message, I felt like a big weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Maybe this was the reason why I stopped applying to jobs on oDesk before - I did not feel like I was competent enough to do any more work online.

But because of this message, today is a different day. I now believe that I am a superb writer. A writer capable of expressing ideas into words. Words that can tingle your senses and ignite your imagination. Words that may or may not captivate your heart..

I really admire the work ethics of Andrew. Even if his clients can’t recognize if the one writing their articles is a foreign writer, Andrew still makes it a point to keep his word.

Hats off to you boss Andrew! Thanks for making my day! :)
